Feature Tour

Everything your gym gets, screen by screen.

Setting, competitions, spray walls, analytics and a climber app, all in one plan. Here is what each part does for your gym, with real screens from the product.

Built with Alt. Rock, our launch partner, and running there every day since March 2026.

See it live

Map & Studio

Your whole gym, drawn to scale.

Draw your floor plan once in the map designer, then pin every climb to the wall it lives on. Climbers find new problems on the map instead of hunting for tape, and your setters plan the next reset from the same view.

  • Vector floor-plan designer with walls, rooms, fall mats, fixtures, labels and shapes
  • Trace over a photo or drawing of your existing floor plan
  • Multiple floors for gyms that spread out or stack up
  • Every climb pinned to its spot on the map
  • Map version history for owners

Walls & Rotations

Set in private. Publish when it is ready.

Build each set as a draft that climbers cannot see, then publish it yourself or schedule it for reset day. When a set comes down it is retired, not deleted, so its climbs and every logged send stay on record.

  • Boulder walls and rope walls: top rope, lead and auto belay
  • Drafts stay hidden from climbers until you publish, or schedule them for reset day
  • A rotation photo with start, finish and hand holds marked on each climb
  • 17 style tags, from slab and crimp to dyno and gaston
  • Announce a new set to your followers, with a preview before it goes out
  • Move or delete climbs in batches

Grading

Your grades, plus what climbers think of them.

Pick the grading system your gym already uses and hide the grades you never set. Climbers can suggest a grade on any climb, and you can see where the community lands.

  • V-Grade, YDS and French Sport
  • Hide unused grades so grade pickers stay short
  • Community grade suggestions on every climb
  • Grade consensus shows where climbers think a climb really sits

Competitions

Run a comp without the clipboard.

BoulderBase runs scramble-format competitions from sign-up to published results. Comp problems live in their own draft rotation, climbers score by logging climbs the way they already do, and BoulderBase sends the notifications for you. Publish the results and they freeze as the final record.

  • Divisions by ability and gender, with reusable point systems: count best N, percent or deduct attempt scoring, and tiebreakers
  • Draft, announce with RSVP, open, close, then publish frozen results
  • Single-use access codes, a join link with a QR code, and a front desk QR kiosk
  • A TV scoreboard, with standings live for everyone or visible to staff only
  • Roster edits, score overrides and manual entrants on the day
  • Printable code tickets and standings, CSV exports and branded share images for Instagram

Spray Walls

New

A proper home for your spray wall.

Photograph your spray wall and let climbers create problems by marking holds on it. The good ones become benchmarks, and a moderation queue keeps the wall tidy.

  • Wall photo with hold marking
  • Climber-created problems and benchmarks
  • Sends, likes and comments on every problem
  • Set history when the holds change
  • A moderation queue for staff
  • List your light-up boards, like Kilter and Moon, on your gym page

Challenges & Leaderboards

Give climbers a reason to try something new.

Post a Challenge of the Month on your gym page to give climbers something to chase between resets, while points and leaderboards add some friendly competition.

  • A Challenge of the Month on your gym page, with a photo, dates and a link
  • Post, edit or replace it any time from your manage area
  • Leaderboards for the Current Drop, This Month and All Time
  • Scramble competitions when you want a bigger night
  • Climbers who would rather not compete can opt out

Calendar & Events

Tell climbers what is coming.

Put wall resets, events and competitions on one calendar. The next few show up on your public gym page, so climbers know when to come in for fresh climbs.

  • Wall resets, plus a "no reset this week" note when you skip one
  • Other gym events alongside your resets
  • Competitions on the same calendar
  • An upcoming events strip on your public gym page

Analytics

See what is working on your walls.

Know which climbs get climbed, which grades are thin, and which climbers are drifting away. Compare periods to see whether a change actually helped.

  • Send and flash rates by grade, and sends over time
  • Active climbers, cohort retention and churn risk
  • Supply versus demand by grade, plus grade consensus
  • Most-lapped climbs and a wall heatmap
  • Set freshness, with strip candidates for your next reset
  • Period comparisons and an active-climbs CSV export

Overview

Your gym at a glance.

The overview is the first thing staff see: the numbers that matter, what needs attention, and what the team has been up to. Route setters get their own to-do list.

  • Key numbers for your gym at the top of the page
  • An onboarding checklist while you set up
  • An attention card for things that need a look
  • Recent staff activity and your top climbers
  • A to-do list for route setters

Team

Bring your setters in.

Invite your staff and give each person the access they need. Owners keep control of the gym, and route setters get the tools to set.

  • Owner and route setter roles
  • Invite by email or with a link
  • A 30-day staff activity log of who changed what

Gym Page

A public page climbers actually use.

Every gym gets a public page with your logo, photos and details, plus a live map of what is on the walls right now. It is where climbers check what is new before they come in.

  • Logo, photo gallery, description, hours and amenities
  • Social links and a custom URL
  • Interactive map and wall directory with climb filters
  • Leaderboard, competitions and Challenge of the Month tabs

Support

Questions go to the right place.

Climbers can send a ticket straight to your gym, and your team can reach BoulderBase from the same place.

  • Climber tickets go to your gym
  • Gym tickets go to the BoulderBase team
  • Replies stay on the ticket, so nothing gets lost in email

For your climbers

Climber App

The app your climbers open every session.

Climbers use BoulderBase on the web or in the app for iPhone and Android. Every climb they log feeds your analytics, leaderboards and competitions, so the app does the engagement work for you.

  • Log Climb for sends, flashes and projects, and +1 Lap for repeats
  • Sessions, streaks and an automatic gym level for each discipline
  • Points, leaderboards and milestones in six medal tiers, including comp podiums and wins
  • Betas from Reels or TikTok on any climb
  • A feed, follows, and a Stats tab with a level chart, grade pyramid and a personal plan built from the climbs on your walls
  • Comp entry by code or QR with a live scorecard, push notifications they control, and colour-blind modes

In the app only: celebrations, guided tours, a Projects tab and a live comp bar.
